FAQs
How much is delivery?
All our prices include FREE fully insured next day delivery. If cleared funds are received by 3pm, most orders are dispatched the same day, subject to any security checks required.
How are my goods sent?
All our packages are sent fully insured by Royal Mail, UPS or TNT and require a signature on receipt. When your items are dispatched you will be sent an online tracking number. We have a "goods in carriage" insurance policy underwritten at Lloyds of London which covers each package for up to £50,000.
Can I pay online by debit or credit card?
Unfortunately we are unable to accept debit or credit cards for bullion products. The high risk of card fraud and our very low margins make this impossible. For most customers the easiest way to pay us is by bank transfer using online banking. We also accept cash paid into our account at any branch of Barclays bank or a personal cheque. Cheques require 7 working days to clear prior to dispatch.
Can I collect from your offices in Birmingham?
We do not store bullion products on site, but by prior arrangement you can collect from our offices in the Jewellery Quarter in Birmingham. We need a minimum of 2 hours advanced notice of what products you are interested in so that we can have them available for you.
Do you buy back bullion bars and coins that you have sold?
We are happy to re-purchase any bars or coins that we have supplied at the very best rates. We offer a minimum of 98% of the spot price for gold (coins and bars) and 98% of the spot price for silver bars and coins. We may offer higher prices if demand is very strong. Live spot prices are quoted in the top right hand corner of the website.
To sell, just phone us to lock-in a price and then send the bars to us by insured delivery. As soon as we receive and check the bars we will pay you by same day bank transfer.
Do I have to provide identification to purchase from you?
If you pay by bank transfer we do not need any further ID. We may however contact you to confirm some security details.
If you are paying by cash we do not require any identity for orders under £5,000 in a single transaction or less than £10,000 in multiple transactions over a 12 month period.
For orders in excess of these limits we are required to keep identification to comply with HM Revenue and Customs regulations. We need one piece of photographic identity (passport or drivers licence) and one household bill to prove your address (utility bills, bank statements, credit card statements). You can post us originals which we will return the next day by recorded delivery or you can provide certified copies. Certified copies must be signed by an authority figure (Lawyer, Accountant, Doctor, Policeman) or you can get the copies certified at the post office for a small fee.
Do your bars come with an assay certificate?
All of our gold bullion bars are 24 carat and therefore 99.99% pure gold. They all have 999.9 stamped on them to show the purity of gold.
All our larger gold bars (250g , 500g and 1 kilo) have a unique serial number and are accompanied by a matching certificate. Some of our smaller bars come with a certificate depending on the refiner and the size of the bar. If a certificate is supplied it will always be shown in the image and stated in the description. Unlike some of our competitors all our bars are brand new direct from the manufacturer . Umicore, Metalor and UBS are all approved manufactures of "good delivery bars" by the London Bullion Market Association and therefore have to meet very stringent quality control standards.
You will find Umicore, Metalor and UBS listed on the LBMA's website.
Is VAT payable on Bullion Products?
As of the 1st January 2000 investment gold is NOT subject to VAT throughout the EU. Silver bullion products are subject to VAT at the current standard rate (17.5%).
Do you ship outside the UK?
At present we only offer delivery to the UK and the Channel Islands.
I notice your price for Gold is above current market price. Why is this?
The global spot price for gold is based on inter-bank transfers of large numbers of London Good Delivery Bars which are 12.5 kilograms each. This price is only available to large banks and does not include any brokerage fees, transportation, storage or insurance.
Smaller bars are always sold at a premium to the London spot price to reflect the additional costs of producing and testing smaller bars. Our premiums are extremely competitive and are lowest on our larger bars.
