Napoleon III Laureate Head
Napoleon III, nephew of the original Napoleon, was the (only) president of the Second French Republic between 1848 and 1852. He was the first ever ruler elected by popular vote in France, and until the election of Emmanuel Macron in 2017 he was France's youngest ever elected leader.
Following his presidency he became the Emperor of France and the Second French Empire between 1852 and 1870. Below are later coins from his rule, depicting Napoleon crowned with a laureate wreath like the Roman Emperors of old.
