The 2024 Year of the Dragon Proof 1oz gold coin from The Royal Mint's Sh?ngxiào Collection series of lunar coins.

This coin celebrates the Year of the Dragon and features a beautiful Chinese dragon design by William Webb on the reverse while the obverse of the coin features the classic portrait of His Majesty the King by Martin Jennings, as well as the coin's face value. The Dragon in Chinese astrology is considered to be lucky, charismatic, and natural leaders. They are often seen as energetic, creative, and courageous, with a penchant for the arts and a generous, kind-hearted nature. These coins would make a perfect gift for anyone born in the years 1940, 1952, 1964, 1976, 1988, 2000, 2012, and 2024.

This proof one ounce (31.1g) coin is struck in 999.9 pure gold. It is presented in a handsome presentation box and comes with a certificate of authenticity and full colour booklet on the chines lunar dragon. As with other coins from The Royal Mint, it is considered legal tender and is therefore exempt from Capital Gains Tax.
