The Five Pound Gold Coin - sometimes referred to as the Quintuple Sovereign - contains 36.6 grams of gold (Five times the weight of a Sovereign). Proof coins are struck twice to ensure far greater detail on the coin. Due to their status as British Legal tender they are Capital Gains Tax Free (CGT Exempt), so they are a good choice for British investors.
