King James II silver Crown, dated 1687. Reigning for only four years (1685-1688) cons of this British Monarch are very scarce. The silver Half Crown pieces were struck for just four years depicting this rather unsuccessful King, brother of Charles II in sombre mood with pronounced lantern jaw. He made so many enemies and blunders that he took flight and on Christmas day 1688 landed in France never to return again, deposed in the "Glorious Revolution."

Second Bust of James II.

Crowned Cruciform shields.
