A very collectable, high grade, Silver milled Crown of Queen Victoria dated 1847 in extremely fine condition. This Silver Crown infamously known as the "GOTHIC" Crown due to the style of "gothic" lettering used, features the crowned Bust of Queen Victoria facing left. The reverse shows the crowned cruciform shields representing England, Scotland and Ireland with the emblems in the angles. The date is in Roman numerals on the reverse MDCCCXLVII representing 1847, and the wording UNDECIMO is inscribed on the edge. This coin with its low mintage of 8,000 is regarded as one of the most spectacular designs for a British Silver coin in the entire series. Designed by William Wyon in the peak of his career as one of the top "key" coins to collect.

"GOTHIC" type, First bust of Queen Victoria looking left, with legend : VICTORIA DEI GRATIA BRITANNIAR. REG:F:D.

Crowned cruciform shields of England, Scotland and Ireland with emblems to the angles. "Gothic " script around TUEATUR UNITADEUS ANNO DOM MDCCCXLVII. Edge inscribed raised "Gothic" lettering DECUS ET TUTAMEN ANNO REGNI UNDECIMO
