A collectable-grade, hammered silver Groat (Fourpence) of King Henry VIII. The mint mark of "Portcullis" demonstrates it was struck at the London mint between 1509 to 1526. The obverse features the side portrait of King Henry looking right. The reverse shows cross over Royal shield of arms. This silver Groat was in circulation when King Henry the Eighth married his first wife, Catherine of Aragon in 1509, which lasted the longest of all his wives until 1533.
