A very, collectable high grade Silver Hammered Groat of King Philip and Queen Mary dated 1554-1558 with the mint mark of "Lis". The obverse has the Crowned bust of Queen Mary facing left. The reverse shows a cross over the Royal shield. This exceptional grade coin with even tone and strong "eye appeal" was struck just after Queen Mary marries Phillip the King of Spain to rule jointly. King Philip does not appear on the coin itself however his name is included in the edge inscription on the obverse which means 'Philip and Mary by the Grace of God King and Queen'.
