A silver Groat of King Henry VIII. King Henry VIII, second from the House of Tudor, is remembered most for ordering the execution of some of his six wives. Henry reigned from 1509 to 1547, and oversaw the most important revolution in English history, the split with Rome and the constitution of the Church of England, governed by the King himself. A distinctive portrait of Henry can be seen on these silver groats.

Second Coinage. Renaissance Style Bust.
