First introduced during the reign of Edward at a value of 6s. 8d. (approximately 35 pence). The hammered coin was the father of all our modern gold coinage. This is an impressive fine coin and represents an important phase in the history of Britain. This Edward III gold Noble has King Edward III standing facing the ship with sword and shield on the obverse and the reverse features an L in the centre of a Royal cross in tressure. Mintmark Cross 3 Struck c.1356-61. Coin is showing historic signs of being clipped.
