Description

A rare, collectable hammered gold Unite of King Charles I with the mintmark of 'Lis' indicating it was struck in the year 1625 at the Tower mint in London. The obverse features the first bust with the distinctive high double-arched crown, and wearing coronation robes facing left. The XX behind represents the value of 20 shillings. The reverse shows the crowned square-topped shield of royal arms. This coin in good fine condition has an edge chip, otherwise an excellent addition to any numismatic collection.
