Description

A very collectable, high grade, milled Queen Victoria Silver Crown, dated 1847 in about, extremely fine condition. This Silver coin features the infamous Queen Victoria "Gothic" bust, facing left and the cruciform shields, emblems in angles to the reverse. The date is inscribed in Roman numerals on the edge of this coin MDCCCXLVII, representing 1847, and the wording UNDECIMO. This coin with its low mintage of 8,000 is regarded as one of the most spectacular designs for a British Silver coin in the entire series. Designed by William Wyon in the peak of his career as one of the top "key" coins to collect.
