A collectable Silver hammered Penny of King Richard I, struck between the years 1189 through to 1199. The obverse features a crude style face with the words "HENRICVS." There were no coins struck in England with the name Richard, in fact all the short cross coinage series from Henry II in 1180, King Richard and King John, up to King Henry III in 1272, all had the name of "Henricvs". The reverse shows the name of the moneyer "Goldwine" who struck the coin at the mint of Canterbury.
