Description

A collectable hammered silver Penny of King Richard the First struck between the years 1189 to 1199. The obverse features the class 3 type face with crown made of seven pearls, with the hand holding a sceptre. The reverse shows the voided long cross with pellets in the quarters, with the name of the moneyer "Ricard" and where the coin was struck "LVN" indicating London.

This coin in good grade with bold detail for a scarcer early class of the Plantagenet kings.

Obverse
Class 3.Face large with seven pearls to crown, chin and side whiskers made up of small curls. Hand holding sceptre. HENRICS REX.

Reverse
Voided short cross with 4no touching pellets in each quarter. RICARD.ON.LVN.
