A collectable-grade, hammered silver Shilling of Queen Elizabeth I. Minted as part of the sixth issue, along with the mint mark "Bell" indicating it was struck between the year 1582 or 1583. The obverse features tall bust type 3B facing left, without rose or date. The reverse shows square topped shield of arms with through cross. This coin has provenance of Ex "Shuttlewood" and "Lord Stewartby" collections. This Elizabethan Shilling was struck just after Sir Francis Drake sails around the world, and could well have travelled on such an adventure.

Sixth issue, Bust type 3B without rose or date. Mint mark Bell. ELIZAB:D:G:ANG:FR:ET:HIB:REG:
