A collectable grade silver Shilling of King Charles I. Struck at the London Tower mint with the mint mark "Rose" for 1631-2. Group C with armoured bust facing left, and XII behind in Roman numerals for the denomination of Shilling (twelve pence). Garnished oval shield with CR to the reverse. A nice even grey tone, with the reverse very fine around the shield.

Tower mint, Group C, third bust type 2a. Facing left with more visible armour and small XII behind inner circle. Mint mark of the "Rose" for year 1631-2. CAROLUS D G MAG BRI FR ET HIB REX.

Oval garnished shield of arms, with CR above within inner circle. CHRISTO AUSPICE REGNO.
