Description

A collectable grade, silver shilling of King George II, dated 1758. On the obverse the King's 'old' Laureate draped bust faces left. The reverse features cruciform shields of arms for Great Britain, France and Ireland. King George the Second was known for being the last British King to lead an army into battle at "Dettingen" in 1743. This coin was struck a few months after the famous Mr William Pitt became Prime minster.
