This Shilling features the Young Head portrait of Queen Victoria. The portrait was done by William Wyon, while the reverse design was crafted by Jean Baptiste Merlen. The Latin reads VICTORIA DEI GRATIA BRITANNIAR REG: (Regina) F.D. (Fidei Defensatrix), which translates as Victoria, By Grace of God Queen of Britain and Defender of the Faith..
