A collectable grade, and rare, hammered silver Shilling of King Edward VI. This coin has the crowned facing bust, with a rose to the left, and VI in Roman numerals representing Sixpence to the right. With the mint mark "y", representing the date 1551, and being struck at the infamous Tower mint of London. The reverse has cross, over Royal shield. King Edward the Sixth ascended the throne aged nine and became affectionately known as the "boy" King. He suffered from poor health, and much unrest when he reigned, which is evident through his coins. Coin has even, light toning with strong face details.

Facing crowned bust in elaborate investment. Rose to the left, VI to the right. EDWARD.VI:D:G.AGL:FRA:Z:HIB:REX.

Cross fourchee over shield. Mint mark "y" to the reverse side only. POSVI DEV: ADIVTORE. MEV.
