A very collectable Silver milled Sixpence of Queen Elizabeth I, dated 1563. The obverse features the large broad bust, with elaborately decorated dress facing left, and a rose behind. The reverse shows the square topped Royal Shield of arms, with the rarer type cross "Cross Patte'e " through.
Please refer to the reverse details for information in this rarer date of 1563. This coin was stuck as one of the first milled coins of England. The process was via the first horse-drawn mill press. This led to the naming of coins up to date as "milled". This coin, in about very fine condition, has good details, and minor evidence of historic creasing, which was common amongst early milled coins.

Large broad bust with elaborately decorated dress, small rose behind. Mm Star. ELIZABETH D G FRA ET HIB REGINA.
Reverse
Square topped Royal shield of arms with the Cross Patte'e. POSVI DEVM ADVITOREM MEVM. mintmark "Star". ANOMALY :- The date above the shield appears to be 1663, a rarer date. Appears to be "B&B" 29 obv 4, Rev 2, which is a 1562 die however the last digit although obscured from crease wear seems almost certainly a " 3".
