A very collectable, hammered Silver Sixpence of Queen Elizabeth I - dated 1569. The obverse features the intermediate bust with the ear showing, facing left with a small rose behind. The reverse shows the square-topped Royal shield of arms with the cross Fourchee through. The mint mark of "Coronet" is featured on both the obverse and reverse. This coin of good detail and even tone was struck at the time when Mary Queen of Scots was imprisoned by Queen Elizabeth the First, at the tower of London.
