A rare, third issue, hammered silver sixpence of Charles II with the mintmark crown for 1660-2. The last coin of the silver hammered series, and among the first coins minted after the restoration of the monarchy and house of Stuart.
The Obverse features a crowned bust of Charles II within inner circles and the VI roman numerals indicating sixpence. On the reverse is the coat of arms of Charles the Second featuring a square shield quartered with the arms of England and France combined in 1st and 4th quarters, and the arms of Scotland and Ireland in the second and third quarters respectively, on a cross fleury. Around the edge is written 'CHRISTO AVSPICE REGNO' (I Reign Under The Auspice of Christ).
