A collectable milled silver, Sixpence of Queen Anne - dated 1711. Struck after the Union with Scotland, by the London mint. On the obverse is the normal draped bust of Queen Anne facing left. The reverse features crowned cruciform shields with individual arms of Great Britain, France and Ireland. Queen Anne was the last of the Stuarts; despite giving birth to seventeen children, none of her offspring survived her, bringing an end to the Stuart dynasty. She reigned at the time of the union between Scotland and England, and the wars with France and Spain.
