A collectable Hammered Silver Halfgroat of King Edward the Third from the Pre-Treaty period of 1351-1361. The obverse features the crowned facing bust within a tresure. The reverse shows the long cross with three pellets in the quarters and the wording for the City of London. This dark toned Silver Hammered Halfgroat was struck in London just after the "Black Death" wipes out one third of the population of England.
