A collectable hammered silver Halfgroat of king Charles the First with the mint mark of 'anchor' indicating struck at the tower of London mint under the control of the king in the year 1638 or 1639. The obverse features the king facing left, roman numerals II being indicating the value of 'Twopence' or 'Halfgroat'. The reverse shows the oval shield of royal arms within a circle. This coin in good fine condition on a full flan with light tone has some reverse legend off struck otherwise an excellent coin.
