This gold coin features the first Bust of Charles I in Coronation Robes wearing a high double arched Crown on the obverse and a crowned squared topped Shield with Elaborate garnishing on the reverse. Struck at the Tower Mint. X on the coins is it's value which is 10 Shillings.

Britain in turmoil, Cavaliers and Roundheads, Oliver Cromwell and the first Parliament. From a historians point of view, this was a tremendously exciting period of British history however, from Charles I's view, a most traumatic reign ending up with his execution.

During this period there were numerous Mints producing coinage and these are the last hammered coins produced so they should be included in all collections.
