The Royal Mint's Myths & Legends series kicks off a Proof release, with this £25 quarter-ounce gold coin that pays tribute to one of the most iconic figures in British mythology, King Arthur.
The 2023 King Arthur gold Proof 1/4oz coin is the latest addition to The Royal Mint's collection of British Myths and Legends, and features a unique design by artist David Lawrence, who has created the reverse design for each coin in the Myths and Legends collection. It depicts King Arthur in a pose of regal strength, grasping his legendary sword, Excalibur. The obverse of the coin features the official coinage portrait of His Majesty King Charles III designed by British sculptor Martin Jennings, differing from the bullion release with Elizabeth II.
The coin comes in a beautiful Royal Mint box with an informative booklet giving the history of the mythical king. This coin is a must-have for collectors and enthusiasts alike, offering a unique glimpse into the fascinating world of British myths and legends.
