Description

A 2012 gold Proof Quarter Sovereign from The Royal Mint. This coin has a unique interpretation of the classic George & Dragon design to mark the Queen's jubilee.

Due to their status as British legal tender Quarter Sovereigns are exempt from capital gains tax (CGT). This proof has been struck using specially selected blanks and highly polished dies. During striking, the coinage dies exert enormous pressure on the coin blank, with at least two separate blows (or strikes), ensuring that the impression has extra clarity.

Graded to PR70 FDC (Fleur de Coin) - A coin with no post-production imperfections at 5x magnification.
