The 2008 Proof gold 50p piece featuring the seated Britannia design by Christopher Ironside, and the 4th portrait by Ian Rank-Broadley.
This design featured on the circulating 50p coinage since 1969 (revised in 1982 to read "FIFTY PENCE" from "NEW PENCE"). The coin looks the same as a modern 50p piece, but it is heavier than the base metal version, and contains 14.2 grams of pure gold.
