All our prices include FREE, fully insured next-day delivery for all orders over £250.00. Orders smaller than £250.00 will be dispatched as Royal Mail 'Signed For', which should be next day delivery but may on occasion take longer.

If cleared funds are received by 2pm, most orders are dispatched the same day, subject to any security checks required. Please note orders below £250 may take up to 3-4 working days.

All our packages are sent fully insured and require a signature on receipt. When your items are dispatched, you will be sent an online tracking number. We have a "goods in carriage" insurance policy underwritten at Lloyds of London which covers each package for up to £50,000. Please note that packages are insured until signed for at delivery address, and we can accept no liability for items once signed for at work addresses or houses of multiple occupancy.

Our shop in the Birmingham City Centre is open Monday - Friday 9:30am - 4.30pm. If you are making a long or special journey it is worth calling first to confirm stock availability. We do not store all bullion products on site, but by prior arrangement you can collect any of our products from the shop. If you have already placed your order and wish to collect, we MUST receive funds before you arrive. Online debit and credit card orders can not be collected in person, and must be delivered to the address registered with the card.

For ALL sales and purchases of bullion and/or scrap precious metals we will require customers to provide identification. We require photographic ID such as a passport or photographic driving license, and a utility bill or bank statement indicating your home address, dated within the last three months.

To follow anti-money-laundering guidelines, we are unable to accept cash payments. Debit and credit card payments are accepted. There is no surcharge for Credit card use but there is a limit of £5,000 per order.

For security reasons, we are unable to change delivery addresses from one residential address to another. This is to protect against attempted fraudulent transactions and identity theft. We are unable to send orders to different residential addresses to those other than the registered bank account address.

Orders are delivered with by the Royal Mail as part of their Special Delivery service. This is typically next day, tracked, and is a signed-for service. If nobody is home to sign for the parcel, it will be returned to your nearest Sorting Office awaiting collection or re-delivery.

Customers can - subject to our discretion - request delivery to a work address. This is not always applicable, and does require the customer's signing of an insurance waiver to confirm their authorisation.

A card will be left by the courier so that you can rearrange delivery for another day or collect from your local sorting office/depot taking ID with you. Your parcel will remain fully insured up until it is signed for.

You will receive an email around 19:00, following dispatch of your order which will include a tracking number where appropriate.

Orders under £250 are sent out on a 1-3 working day expected service, but cannot be tracked. Deliveries will come by 1pm latest each day, but customers are advised to wait an additional 2-3 days before contacting us due to potential delays in their local postal service.

If we receive your funds before 2pm and the items ordered are showing in stock, we will dispatch the same day.

Yes, we do. We have many customers based in the Channel Islands though we do always recommend calling us if you are placing a first-time order, so we can explain any potential VAT issues or any specifics regarding postage.

We accept online payments with credit cards up to £5,000 and debit cards up to the value of £30,000. Please note this limit may change but notice will be given to customers.

Alternatively, many customers find the easiest way to pay us is by bank transfer, either in branch or using online banking, but we also accept personal cheques. Cheques require 7 working days to clear prior to dispatch. We do not accept cash payments.

ID will be requested if we cannot verify your address via 192 or GBG. Once provided, our Compliance Team will assess the documents and, if approved, we will proceed with your order.

Our Compliance Team may also ask for one or more forms of ID for large orders, or if you have a high cumulative order value. We are required to keep identification to comply with HM Revenue and Customs regulations. The standard documents we ask for scans or photographs of are as follows:

  • Photographic ID (passport or driving license)
  • Proof of Address within the last three months (utility bills, bank statement etc)
  • Copy of the Card (Name, expiry date, last four digits of the long 16-digit card number)

For orders made using company/business funds, we will require additional documents such as a VAT certificate, Certificate of Incorporation, and a business bank statement.

As of the 1st January 2000, investment gold is NOT subject to VAT throughout the UK and the EU. Silver bullion products are subject to VAT at the current standard rate (20%). At BullionByPost we are eligible to sell second-hand Silver Bullion without VAT through the HMRC Margin Scheme. 3D authentication / 3D secure is managed by Visa (Verified by Visa) and Mastercard (Mastercard Securecode) themselves. It is a worldwide security program that many banks and building societies opt into. Given the nature of our products, we have to ensure the highest level of security available and therefore can only accept card payments that go through this additional security process.

The global spot price for gold is based on inter-bank transfers of large numbers of London Good Delivery Bars which are 12.5 kilograms each. This price is only available to large banks and does not include any brokerage fees, transportation, storage or insurance.

Smaller bars are always sold at a premium to the London spot price to reflect the additional costs of producing and testing smaller bars. Our premiums are extremely competitive and are lowest on our larger bars.

Products & Services

Some, but not all bars will have an assay certificate. This tends to be smaller bars (sub-100g) and certificates or assay cards will be shown in the product photography.

All of our gold bullion bars are 24-carat and therefore 99.99% pure gold. Bars typically have specifications stamped on them to show the manufacturer, purity of gold, weight, and serial number.

All of our brand-new bars come direct from LBMA-approved refiners. Umicore, Metalor, Heraeus, and PAMP are our main suppliers aside the Royal Mint. These are all approved manufactures of "good delivery bars" by the London Bullion Market Association and have to meet very stringent quality control standards to achieve and retain this prestigious accreditation.

We are happy to re-purchase any bars or coins that we have supplied at the very best rates, and we can often buy back brands we don't sell too.

To sell, just phone us to lock-in a price and then send the items to us by insured delivery. As soon as we receive and check the bullion we will pay you by bank transfer within 1-3 days. Yes. We have recently added 1 tola and 5 tola bars to our ever increasing range of gold bars. Our tola bars are brand new, 24 carat pure supplied by PAMP.
