Description

The gold Proof 2010 - 2011 four-coin one pound collection featuring Capital Cities of the United Kingdom. This set contains four gold £1 coins, featuring the coats of arms of London, Belfast, Cardiff and Edinburgh.

The Royal Mint issued a series of Capital City £1 coins for each of the four capitals of the United Kingdom. The series ran between 2010 and 2011, with gold proof coins for each UK capital. Each coin features the other three coins in small format at the base of the reverse to show their relation and this set is was released at the same time as the final two coins, offering a complete collection to buyers.

Stuart Devlin was the chosen designer of the coins and his work depicts each city's coat of arms, as well as other slight details relating to that city or parent nation. The coin edges contain the city mottos or poignant phrases on each piece.

These gold proof one pound coins come in a handsome wood effect box with all the coin certificates.
