The coin is dated 2023 to coincide with the 40th anniversary of Star Wars: Return of the Jedi, and the painted design features the two iconic villains and rulers of the Galactic Empire. A special ‘lenticular feature’, depicting the death star and the the Galactic Empire insignia can be seen when the coin is viewed from different angles.
The 2023 Vader & Palpatine 50p silver proof coin is the second of four coins dedicated to iconic duos from the Star Wars franchise.
