The Royal Mint continues it celebration of British scientists with this coin honouring the contribution of Rosalind Franklin. Dr Franklin was a chemist and X-ray crystallographer who made significant contributions to our understanding of the structures of viruses. She is most famous as the 'wronged heroine' of British science whose key role in the discovery of the structure of DNA was not recognised until after her death.
This Proof fifty pence coin weighs 15.5 grams, is presented in a handsome presentation box, and comes with a certificate of authenticity and full colour booklet.
