The 2022 100th Anniversary of the BBC gold Proof fifty pence coin from The Royal Mint.
The British Broadcasting Corporation was founded on 18 October 1922 and has the honour of being the oldest national broadcaster in the world. Initially a radio broadcaster, the BBC now also broadcasts on television as well as digitally, and provides a wide variety of services.
The reverse of this coin features a design by Henry Gray, which shows the reach of the BBC - now a global broadcaster, alongside the BBC's values of inform, educate, entertain. The obverse of the coin features Jody Clark's Fifth Portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, making this one of the final coins to depict Her Majesty.
This Proof fifty pence coin is struck in 22 carat gold (916.7) and weighs a total of 15.5g. It is presented in a handsome presentation box and comes with a certificate of authenticity and full colour booklet.
