This 1927 George V Proof Crown features King George V Modified Bare Head on the obverse and a Crown and Date in Wreath on the reverse. This is the first Silver Crown of George V. The Royal Mint struck the first of a new series of crowns known as the Christmas crowns as they displayed the Christmas wreath on the reverse.
Issued from 1927-1936 (except 1935), 9 years in all, these silver crowns have become very desirable, a total of only 50,000 for all years together were struck.
We give you the starter to the set and offer the 1927. These are rare coins, issued only in Proof sets. Struck in silver and in extremely fine condition.
