A 2023 'Four Guardians' one ounce fine silver coin featuring the Vermilion Bird of the Summer South from Samoa.

The four guardians are creatures from Chinese astrology representing the four cardinal directions and the seasons. The Vermilion Bird symbolizes the season of summer, fire, and the southern direction. It is described as a majestic bird with vibrant red plumage and immense power. Often associated with nobility, good fortune, and the element of fire, the Vermilion Bird holds great cultural significance and remains a captivating symbol in Chinese art, literature, and symbolism.

The reverse of the 2023 1 oz silver Four Guardians Vermilion Bird coin features a beautiful depiction of the bird with open wings and long majestic tail feathers. Below is compass and the text 'Vermilion Bird of the South Summer'. The Samoan Coat of Arms is on the obverse.
