The 2023 Hercules silver coin is the first issue in a new series celebrating the famous characters of classical Greek mythology.
It features Hercules, the legendary Greek symbol of strength and valour. Born to Zeus, the king of the gods, and a mortal woman, Hercules faced numerous trials and labours as punishment for a vengeful act committed by the goddess Hera. His remarkable feats include battling mythical creatures, such as the Nemean Lion and the Hydra depicted here, as well as completing seemingly impossible tasks like cleaning the Augean stables.
The coin is issued by the pacific island of Niue in 999 fine silver and weighs exactly 1 troy ounce. It has a limited mintage of only 7,500 coins.
