A collectable hammered silver Penny of king Charles the First with the mint mark of 'Triangle' indicating struck at the tower of London mint under the control of the king in the year 1639 or 1640. The obverse features the king facing left, roman numeral I being indicating the value of Penny. The reverse shows the oval shield of royal arms within a circle. This coin in good fine condition on a full flan with medium tone, a little grainy under magnification in areas but does not deter from an excellent little coin.
