A collectable hammered silver Half Groat of King Charles I with the mint mark of 'Sun' indicating struck at the tower of London mint under the control of Parliament in the year 1645 or 1646. The obverse features the king facing left with a distinctive pointed beard, roman numerals II being indicating the value of 'Twopence' or 'Half Groat'. The reverse shows the oval shield of royal arms within a circle. This coin in good fine condition on a full flan with attractive tone has some crease minor damage and a scratch in front of the obverse face, otherwise an excellent coin.
