Introducing the 2023 R2-D2 and C-3PO fifty pence silver proof coin, part of the new Star Wars coin range from The Royal Mint. Celebrating the iconic duo of R2-D2 and C-3PO this collectible is the first time the Star Wars franchise has been featured on UK coinage.
The coin is dated 2023 to coincide with the 40th anniversary of Star Wars: Return of the Jedi, the painted design features the 2 lovable droids who have made more appearances in the Star Wars franchise than any other characters. A special ‘lenticular feature’, depicting Tatooine and the Rebel Alliance Starbird can be seen when the coin is viewed from a different angle.
The R2-D2 and C-3PO 50p silver proof coin is the first of four coins dedicated to iconic duos from the Star Wars franchise.
