A rare Russian 5 Rouble Gold coin, dated 1819 from the reign of Alexander I. As of March 2020 only three better examples have ever been graded by PCGS or NGC grading companies. The Cyrillic letters '???' (which we have represented through their similarity to the English letters 'CNB') show that this coin was minted at the Saint Petersburg Mint.
Obverse.
Text reads: '??????? ?????? 1 ????????. 39 ????? ?.?.?.' (Pure gold 1 Zolotnik 39 parts Saint Petersburg Mint).
Reverse.
Crowned, double-headed eagle with shield of Russia at centre. Initials ?.?. below represent the mint master Mikhail Fedorov.
Text around the edge reads: '???? ?????? 1819 ????' (Five roubles from the year 1819).
