An 1897 1/2 Pond (Pound) gold coin minted by the South African Rand Refinery. These are exactly the same dimensions and gold content as the British Half Sovereign. They feature the portrait of Paul Kruger and the Transvaal Coat of Arms. Text reads ZUID AFRIKAANSCHE REPUBLIEK.
