The above chart shows the price for an ounce of platinum in Euros, tracked over the last twenty years. In two decades platinum has enjoyed incredible gains; fuelled by its use in the automotive industry as a catalytic converter, and the financial crisis in 2008. Prices reached such a peak that manufacturers turned to palladium as an alternative but, with palladium now higher than platinum, a reversal could be seen.
