The chart above tracks the price for an ounce of silver in US Dollars, for the past 25 years. In a quarter of a century silver has seen some impressive gains. Like gold, for much of the 1990s silver was in a bear market, and saw little to no growth in that time. As the stock markets crashed towards the end of the 2000s though, silver saw incredible gains as investors turned away from the losses of the stock market to the safe haven of a physical asset.
