The above chart shows the price of silver over the course of the past 30 years, in US Dollars per troy ounce. For the first half of the previous three decades silvers price was relatively flat, varying only slightly between $4 and $5. After the financial crisis however, silver saw its price climb spectacularly, before shrinking again slightly.
