Description

A brand-new, one ounce bar of fine 24-carat gold manufactured by The Royal Mint featuring the classic design of Una and the Lion. The bars are supplied in tamper evident packaging and include an assay card guaranteeing the weight (31.103 grams) and purity (999.9). A unique serial number is minted onto each bar.

Derived from Edmund Spenser's epic poem "The Faerie Queene," the design depicts Una, the virtuous princess who, on her quest to liberate her parents from a dragon's captivity, encounters a lion whose ferocity is tamed by her innocence. This design is based on the classic £5 coin from 1839 by William Wyon and bears the Latin inscription 'DIRIGE DEUS GRESSUS MEOS', which translates to 'May God direct my steps'. These Una & the Lion 1oz gold bars are VAT-free, and will make a fine addition to any collection.
