Mexican Libertad Coins
The Libertad is Mexico's official silver bullion coin, struck by the Casa de Moneda de México, the oldest mint in the Americas, founded in 1535. The silver series began in 1982 and moved to the current one ounce specification in 1991.
The reverse carries the Winged Victory of the Independence Monument in Mexico City, with Popocatépetl and Iztaccíhuatl behind her; the obverse shows the Mexican coat of arms surrounded by earlier versions of it. Mintages are small by bullion standards, which gives particular years a following among collectors.

The silver Libertad is a Mexican silver coin struck by the Casa de Moneda de México in 999 fine silver. It is unusual among bullion coins in carrying no denomination at all: it is legal tender in Mexico by weight rather than by a stated face value.
