Edward VII 1902 - 1910
Our specific year Edward VII gold Sovereigns are selected from only the finest condition coins in our stocks and will be significantly higher in grade compared to our Specific Head sovereigns. We aim for a coin grade of VF+ (very fine and above). Exceptional or rare coins will be listed with the photograph of the actual coin rather than a generic picture.
Edward VII Gold Sovereigns
During the reign of Edward VII, initials for Sovereign coin engravers included G.W. De Saulles (De S.) and a return for Benedetto Pistrucci (B.P.). Edward VII gold Sovereigns are still relatively common, despite ruling for just eight years. The British Empire at this time was vast, and millions of Sovereigns were circulated around the world as the Empire's £1 currency coin.
In addition to London, Australia served as a hub for minting these coins internationally. As such, Edward VII gold Sovereigns will sometimes feature mint marks to denote where they were produced.
