30 Gram Gold Panda

The Chinese Panda gold coin is the primary bullion coin issued from the People's Bank of China and distributed via the China Gold Coin Incorporation. It is .999 purity fine gold and has a face value of 500 yuan.

This category is for the 30 gram Chinese Panda coin, however prior to 2016 they were produced in the more traditional imperial format as a 1oz coin. Both varieties will appear in this category.

First released in 1982, the design of these coins always features the Temple of Heaven, as well as the year of issue and the coin's face value. Coins issued in the year 2000 or before will have a lower face value of 100 yuan.

The Panda, being the national animal of China, appears on the reverse of the coin. The design of this changes annually and will vary between featuring a lone Panda or multiple creatures.
