An island city-state in Southeast Asia, the Republic of Singapore was originally a crown colony of the British Empire. The twentieth century saw Singapore under the control of several foreign powers before finally becoming independent in 1965.

The Singapore Mint was established in 1968 to produce currency after gaining independence.

Below are a further selection of limited and rare Singaporean coins that we currently have in stock.

Singapore was founded as a trading post of the East India Company in 1819 before being ceded to the British Raj when the company collapsed. During World War II Singapore was occupied by Japan. It gained independence from Britain by joining Malaysia but separated from the latter just two years later due to ideological differences.

The Singapore Mint produces a number of numismatic gold coins with series such as the ‘Lunar’ and ‘Native Orchids of Singapore’ collections.
